5 Floral Trends for Spring 2019

Ah, Trends—sometimes you hate them, sometimes you love them. Regardless of your feelings, as “experts” in the floral industry, it’s important to be aware of what people are looking for when it comes to flowers. This not only gives you a heads-up on how you should be preparing for the rest of the year, but it also allows you to add your unique and creative touch to what’s popular in 2019. Here are 5 floral trends that stood out to us!

1. Fillers and Greens

These simple, yet beautiful flowers add texture to any arrangement. We’ve noticed how some Boho Brides are opting for these flowers instead of traditional bouquet staples. We’ve also noticed how wedding planners are using more greens for aisle decorations, hanging floral installations and accent decor.

2. Coral and Pinks

With Pantone’s announcement of the Color of the Year, we’re seeing a lot of coral and pink-ish tones everywhere. We love when designers and florists pair these trending colors with lighter tones like lavender, yellow or even baby blue! If you missed our very own Pantone inspired bouquets, check them out here.

3. Sustainably-Grown Flowers

Now, more than ever, both industry people and consumers alike are looking for growers that adopt environmentally and socially responsible practices. Making sure your flowers come from a responsible grower is always a conversation-starter and a great way to let your customers and/or guests know that this is fundamental to you! If this is of interest of you, learn about how the farms we represent are environmentally friendly and socially responsible.

4. Minimalism Is Back

Remember when the big, over-the-top floral arrangements were a thing? Well, experts say 2019 is the year for scaling down. That doesn’t mean your arrangement won’t make a big impact. Pairing 2 or 3 colors/flowers in a small vase will definitely be a trend you’ll be seeing this year.

5. Monochromatic Tones Are In

Dare to impress with a single-toned bouquet in 2019! Whether you’re going for a simple Alstroemeria & Rose bouquet or looking to mix a variety of flowers to create a stunning arrangement, you cannot go wrong with a monochromatic theme. You can use this trend with bright or pastel colors and still have a beautiful and elegant arrangement.
