New Year, New You right? You’ve heard it all before. It’s that time of year where we hit the reset button. What are things we want to do better? What activities do we want to implement into our daily lives? What habits do we want to kick to the curb? Starting out the year doesn’t just mean cutting back on sweets and carbs, although we’re definitely staying away from bread and wine for at least a month. New Year’s resolutions are about reflecting on the past year and figuring out ways to be better, do better in the months to come!
We asked some of our team members to share their resolutions for 2020. We told them that they could be personal, professional or both. We’re here to support them on this journey and thought we should bring you along with us! So, take some time, even if it’s just a few minutes, to think about what you want to accomplish in 2020. Whether it’s big or small, know that your Grown to Last family will be with you every step of the way. 2020 will be a great year, trust us!

“In 2020, I want to focus on exercising at least 3 times a week and I want to start meditating regularly!”

“For this coming year, I have two resolutions. The first one is to lose some weight. The second one is travel more and try to work less! I love to travel and I feel that I need to take time off to do things that I love. So hopefully, in 2020, you’ll see me traveling more.”
“I have two New Year’s Resolutions for 2020, one is professional and the other one is personal. The professional resolution is to speak to one customer per week. I believe it is important to take time out of our busy schedules and have conversations with our customers—ask them questions about our products and services but also get to know them on a more human level. The second resolution is a bit similar to the first—I want to make the effort to have one-on-one quality moments with each member of my family every month—even with my daughter’s dog!”
“Over the years, I've learned that my New Year's resolutions never stuck around very long after the calendar page turned to January. Even though the intention was there, the follow through was not. So, I started just changing little habits one at a time.
First, identifying something I did not like and that I could change. Even though the progress can be painfully slow, there is progress. Organization and eliminating unnecessary paper are my current "changes". I have been shredding unnecessary papers for years, it seems the flow is never-ending. So, this year, my goal is to stop the paper from even being used. I have always used the paper as the reminder for what needed to be done, so switching to other forms of "reminders" has not been easy.
It is my job to keep all my customer's orders organized so they come in and go out on time. But now I stop to think if it is necessary to print each individual order or if instead, a date range that will give me the info I need with only 1 piece of paper. It's still a work in progress, but I look forward to a cleaner desk at work and a neater office at home in 2020!”

“For 2020, I have several resolutions. Professionally, I would like to get to know our customers better and have the opportunity to visit them. Personally, I want to be more physically active. My goal is to participate in two 5k walks and play a round of golf every quarter.”
“This year, I would like to travel more both on a personal basis and a professional one! Since I’m relatively new at Golden Flowers, I want to take time to visit my customers and get to know them better face-to-face. So yeah, 2020 is all about travel for me.”

“More and more studies have been coming out regarding the benefits of sleep including studies on sleep and brain clarity and weight reduction. I would like to resolve to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night in 2020.”
